Many thanks to Helen and Howard for sorting out a great day for everybody and congratulations to all the boys who played in the Corringham Cosmos tournament on May 31st. A magnificent effort and a well deserved runners up medal for all involved. Safe Hans, Jack and Eddie kept clean sheets against every team except the eventual winners. Matthew had an excellent debut and Jamie, Chris and Mitchell forced most of the teams onto the back foot with aggressive and sustained attacking football. Lewis continues his progress with massive display of strong tackles which continue to bode well for the team when we need an assertive centre half at eleven a side. There are a number of pleasing elements to look back upon. The heading was absolutely excellent particularly from Chris who almost scored from one of Jamie's corners but a special mention must be made in regard to his defensive headers which were technically excellent. In the centre of the park Mitchell and Lewis were able to dominate possession by getting to the ball first and both Jamie and Jack also made good defensive clearances with their respective heads for the first time. The team spirit is was very strong with all the boys willing each other onto success. This was typified by the amount of support Matthew was given in his first game for the team and also in the way that every boy ran himself into the ground for everybody else. |
